What sets this awning apart? DARCHE is the first in Australia to put a freestanding awning through such extensive wind testing. Over a 30-day period, the Eclipse 270 was subjected to a full spectrum of wind conditions from gentle breezes right up to howling gales all benchmarked using the Beaufort scale.
Here’s what the results showed:
- In initial testing, the awning held firm in winds up to 50km/h. - After a repair and design tweak, it withstood 55km/h in the next round. - With the poles deployed and securely pegged, the Eclipse 270 stood strong in winds up to an incredible 90km/h.
DARCHE achieved this by building in specially-designed break points that protect your vehicle in the event of failure and make repairs easy, a clever bit of engineering that sets this awning apart.
